About Us

Nilachala Saraswat Sangha (NSS), Puri was founded on 24th August 1934 at Nilachala Kutir—devotees gather for satsang and inner transformation.

“I wish to awaken my dispirited people through Dharma, to manifest in them the ideals of Self-Knowledge.” — Swami Nigamananda

NSS, Puri was established by Swami Nigamananda Paramahans Dev for household devotees to follow disciplined spiritual practice and live a clean, principled life. The Sangha emphasizes satsang, devotion, service, and value-based living—so devotees grow first as ideal human beings, and then serve society with humility.

Founder portrait

I wish to awaken my dispirited people through Dharma; to manifest in them the ideals of Self-Knowledge.

Let discipline and devotion be your strength; let service to humanity be your worship.

True knowledge refines the heart; true devotion strengthens the will; true service purifies life.

Walk the path of Dharma with purity—learn, reflect, and apply teachings in daily living.

Swami Nigamananda Paramahansa

Born in 1880 at Kutabpur (Nadia district), he sought Truth through intense spiritual discipline and self-realization. He established Nilachala Saraswat Sangha at Puri to uplift household devotees through Sanatan Dharma and Satshiksha. His message emphasized purity of life, devotion with knowledge, and service to society as worship. Through guidance, writings, and ideals, he inspired disciplined living rooted in compassion and inner progress. His legacy continues through satsang, education, and seva across branches and communities.
